I found this 32 year children's book in a thrift shop A bit worse for wear. I have always loved Mabel Lucie Attell's images And used to read a lot of her books as a child. I had these wooden rabbit shapes, and thought They would look make a nice collage.
This weekend I have been busy making owls.. They are sitting on 100year old Totara logs, which is a native wood of New Zealand They used this wood as battens for fences to keep the sheep and cows in. Different sizes found in my shop and on Trade Me.
Not far from my home is a pine forest.. For the last 20 years we have been walking in it, collecting pine-cones for our wood fires and enjoying the bird song. Well yesterday they started to fell it for lumber We will sure miss walking there, It was a 5 minute walk from my home.
